CALLOUTWhat Based means
Choose Based when the post expresses a position you broadly agree with or believe is well argued. The reaction is intentionally simple, but you can always add a Take to explain what persuaded you or where your agreement has limits.
What Hot Take means
Choose Hot Take when you disagree, think the claim is unusually controversial, or believe the argument needs stronger support. It is a reaction to the opinion, not permission to attack the author. The most useful Hot Take votes are followed by a reasoned reply.
One active verdict per account
A signed-in member has one active verdict on each eligible post. Changing sides updates that stored verdict rather than creating another vote. This protects the result from ordinary repeat clicking and keeps the percentages tied to identifiable platform accounts.
How percentages are calculated
The result bar compares the number of valid Based and Hot Take votes currently stored for the post. Percentages may change as members vote or update their choice. Removed, invalid, or moderated activity should not remain in the public total.
What a verdict cannot prove
A popular result does not establish a scientific fact and may not represent people outside the Callout community. Results can be influenced by who encountered a post, when it was published, and which community discussed it. Treat the bar as a conversation signal, not a substitute for evidence.
Fair participation
Do not coordinate fake accounts, purchase votes, exchange clicks, or pressure people to manipulate a result. Callout may remove artificial activity and restrict accounts that interfere with a fair discussion. Report suspicious patterns instead of attempting to counter-manipulate them.
